In The Paddocks, Ramsgate, Wilsons was tasked with designing and installing a renewable heating system to meet the demands of a modern home while reducing its carbon footprint. The homeowners wanted a system that provided efficient heating and hot water throughout their property, with the added benefit of precise zone control for their underfloor heating.
Our solution focused on integrating dual Vaillant 7kW Air Source Heat Pumps, operating in parallel to ensure maximum efficiency and performance. This setup not only meets the current heating and hot water demands but also provides scalability for future needs.

The System in Detail
At the heart of the system are two Vaillant 7kW Air Source Heat Pumps, which work together to deliver consistent and reliable energy for the entire property. By operating in parallel, these units share the workload, reducing strain on individual components and maximising energy efficiency.
The system is supported by a 300L Vaillant uniSTOR Unvented Hot Water Cylinder, ensuring a steady supply of hot water for the household. For the underfloor heating, a 100L Buffer Tank is used to support the system’s four separate heating zones. This allows each zone to operate independently, providing tailored heating to different areas of the home.
The heating and hot water system is further enhanced by advanced controls. We used three Vaillant VR 92 remote controllers to manage the underfloor heating zones, allowing the homeowners to set specific temperatures for different rooms. A central SensoComfort VRC 720 controller acts as the main hub, providing an intuitive interface to manage the entire heating system with ease.

System Setup and Component Installation
We begin by installing the two Vaillant 7kW Air Source Heat Pumps in an optimal outdoor location. The Heat Exchanger is connected to ensure efficient heat transfer to the home’s heating system. We also install the 300L Vaillant uniSTOR Unvented Hot Water Cylinder indoors, along with the 100L Buffer Tank to support the underfloor heating zones.
Underfloor Heating and Control Setup
The underfloor heating system is installed, with pipes laid out across four zones in the property. We then install three Vaillant VR 92 Controllers for zonal temperature control, and connect the entire system to the SensoComfort VRC 720 central control hub for easy management of heating and hot water.
